Economic stability plays an important role in helping families build secure and independent futures

Culture carries the stories, wisdom, language, and identity of a community. For many Indigenous families, preserving these traditions is essential to protecting their heritage and passing it forward to future generations. Through the Cultural Preservation Project, SICHAM works to support efforts that celebrate, document, and sustain the rich cultural traditions of Champa, Hmong, and Indigenous communities.

Donations play an important role in helping these efforts continue. Community support helps fund language preservation activities, children's cultural learning materials, storytelling programs, arts initiatives, and intergenerational gatherings where elders and youth can share traditions together.

Many cultural practices are preserved not through institutions, but through families and community relationships. Elders carry oral histories, traditional knowledge, poetry, music, and stories that connect younger generations to their roots. With continued support, SICHAM can help create more opportunities for these traditions to remain alive and accessible.

The Cultural Preservation Project also encourages creative expression through traditional arts, crafts, music, literature, and cultural education. These initiatives strengthen cultural pride while helping communities maintain a meaningful connection to their identity in a rapidly changing world.

Every contribution helps support a future where Indigenous voices, languages, and traditions continue to thrive with dignity and respect. Through kindness, collaboration, and shared responsibility, communities can preserve the heritage that shapes their identity and strengthens future generations.

Together, we can help protect culture not only as history, but as a living part of everyday life.
